I must admit, I had never hosted a home party in my life. In fact, I had not even been to a Home & Garden Party
show nor had I even seen any of their products before I signed up to become a Designer. People couldn’t believe I
was planning to do this. Here I was, a relatively shy young woman, new to the area, and quite busy enough working
full time as a high school special education teacher as well as part time at my husband’s new
chiropractic/acupuncture office. However, I knew that I did not want to continue to work long hours and come
home stressed and tired.

meantime, I knew that we had mountains of student loans, credit cards bills, car payments, and a mortgage to pay
off. So I figured, why wait! I felt Home & Garden Party offered a great career opportunity and it wouldn’t be
hard to sell such quality products. So I signed up to be a Designer in January 2003 and have enjoyed every
moment since then!

first 3 weeks, I held a total of 4 parties already, sold the initial $1500, and was out of training! I had made $454.40
after just those 4 parties! From then on, I now earn 40% commission on all of my Parties, meaning with $1500 in
sales, I now make $600! Plus, there are other cash bonuses and incentives! It is incredible!

Of course, there are Designers who are out of training within the first few days of this journey, and I give them
Kudos. I think I am more of the “norm” though.

About 80-90% of Designers chose to be a “casual designer” doing just 1-3 parties a month. I strive to be a
“consistent designer” holding about 1-2 Parties a week. Eventually I want to become a “career designer” and
hold 3 or more parties a week. There are no boundaries for how many parties you can hold or how much
money you can make! You choose what works best for you and your life!
